Clarkston Attorney Focused on Your Legal Matters

Establishing a strong attorney-client relationship is a large part of receiving the best legal representation possible. Regardless of the legal issue facing you, it is important that the legal advice you receive be communicated clearly so you may completely understand the options available and use the advice to achieve your goals.

With over seventeen (17) years of experience in finding solutions for my clients in a variety of legal areas, including the ones listed below, I can provide you with the experienced, knowledgeable service you deserve. Contact me online or call (248) 620-1300 to discuss your case in a free initial consultation.

PERSONAL INJURY:

If you or a family member have suffered physical injury due to someone else's negligent or irresponsible conduct which resulted in pain and suffering, lost wages, or unpaid medical expenses, you may have a cause of action against that person. Whether the injury was sustained in a motor vehicle accident, on someone's property because of a defective condition, or because of the intentional conduct of another, you have legal rights that must be asserted within a specific period of time. Failure to proceed within the time frame set forth by statute could result in losing your rights forever! Common cases include automobile accidents, automobile no-fault benefit claims, and premises liability (slip and fall) claims.

COMMERCIAL AND BUSINESS LITIGATION and DEBTOR/CREDITOR RIGHTS:

Your business is your livelihood and any ongoing or potential problems which affect the operation of your company, regardless of whether you operate it yourself under an assumed name, have a family owned small business, or are a shareholder or officer of a larger corporation, you need timely and cost-effective solutions to your legal concerns. I can assist your company in business organization and forming, contract drafting and review, collection of and defense for outstanding obligations (both corporate and personal accounts), and pursuing or defending claims on behalf of or against your company. Sometimes, an ounce of prevention in seeking legal counsel is worth much more than a pound of cure in costly litigation.

LANDLORD/TENANT - REAL ESTATE:

Obtaining the proper legal representation when buying, selling, or leasing real estate is important as the law is unique when applied to real property issues. I have represented landlords, tenants, sellers and purchasers in real estate and housing disputes pertaining to leases, evictions, rental income disputes, mortgages, purchase agreements, construction and home repair disputes, and other land contract issues.

CRIMINAL DEFENSE:

If you have been charged with a criminal offense, whether a felony, misdemeanor, or simple traffic violation, you need legal assistance from someone who can steer you through the justice system and advise you as to the best course of action to take. Whether its your first contact with the criminal justice system for a traffic violation, drunk driving or other similar case, there may be mitigating circumstances such that the legal consequences are not set in stone. The laws, especially as to drunk driving, are constantly being revised by the legislature. You should protect yourself and contact my office for the best advice as to your criminal case.

DRIVER LICENSE RESTORATION:

If your driver's license has been suspended for repeated alcohol related offenses, you need to know that the Driver Assessment and Appeal Division (DAAD) of the Secretary of State office has very specific parameters as to when you can apply for reinstatement and what evidence must be presented in order to be successful at the appeal before the Hearing Officer. If you do not prevail at the initial license restoration appeal hearing, you may be precluded from a circuit court appeal absent specific legal grounds and have to wait another complete year before re-applying for reinstatment. In order to have the best possible chance of prevailing at your initial hearing, please contact my office. I have been successful in obtaining restoration of restricted driving privileges when permitted by consultation with clients before submitting the reinstatement paperwork to make sure the relevant information is provided to the Secretary of State.

PROBATE:

Whether you need drafting of a new or updated Estate Planning document such as a Will, Trust, or Power of Attorney for Financial or Health Care (Patient Advocate), require administration of an Estate to defend claims, or are looking to establish a Guardianship or Conservatorship, you need the proper legal representation to assist you. I will assist you in determining what type of  estate plan is right for you and your family consistent with your wishes and needs.

Even if your legal issue is not listed above, I can provide you with legal advice to work toward solving your legal problems in a timely and cost-effect manner. Evening and weekend consultations are available by appointment if necessary. Contact me to discuss your legal needs.
